Rapid Optics deploys lightweight, GPU-accelerated vision models on edge hardware to catch defects in real-time during circuit board manufacturing, reducing scrap rates from 4.2% to 0.8%. Developed in collaboration with RMIT's Advanced Manufacturing Institute, the system integrates with existing SMT line controllers without disrupting production workflows.
